Unfortunately, there are many things in this world that can attack and harm your child’s teeth and gums. This can alter their oral health and affect their smile. As a parent, it’s best to help your child achieve and maintain the optimal oral health they deserve. To help you do so, our dentist, Dr. Ronald D. Walker, has some tips for you. Those tips are:
-Make sure your kid is cleaning their teeth regularly (They should be using a child-sized, soft-bristled toothbrush to clean their smile every morning and night.)
-Make sure your kid visits their dentist (Bring them in for a cleaning and exam every six months.)
-Make sure your kid doesn’t eat many tooth-harming foods (It’s best to have them eat things that are packed with protein, calcium, and vitamin C.)
-Make sure your kid doesn’t go to bed with a bottle or sippy cup of milk (Sending them to bed with a beverage other than water can promote baby bottle tooth decay.)
-Make oral hygiene fun (You can do this by having them use a toothbrush that has their favorite superhero on it or by encouraging them to make as many bubbles as they scrub as possible.)
-Make losing teeth fun (You can do this by having the Tooth Fairy visit each time a chomper falls out of place.)
